    Members sign up directly through your gym’s mobile app or website. No staff intervention is needed—everything is self-service.

  • Can members pause or cancel their memberships?

    Yes! Members can pause, change payment dates or frequency, or cancel their memberships directly in the app. This reduces admin workload for your team.

  • How does payment processing work?

    Tortoise uses Akahu (for bank payments) and Stripe (for card payments). Bank payments arrive the same day with no processing delays.

  • What happens if a member misses a payment?

    • Members are not penalized for late payments.
    • They receive an automatic notification and can resolve the issue in-app.
    • If payment isn’t received, access is paused automatically (with a grace period, if enabled).

  • Does Tortoise integrate with existing gym systems?

    Tortoise is a standalone gym management solution but can be used alongside other tools. Contact us for integration options.
